Field Assistant

Starship has now completed millions of autonomous deliveries to date, traveled millions of miles, and is currently doing more than 140k road crossings each day. We are now looking additional help for a busy season. Looking for a Field Assistant at our hub in Leeds. This is a temporary role that will involve re-deploying robots to our partner’s locations across the region as well as supporting operational and maintenance activities in the Leeds hub. The role will also contain learning technical aspects of the robot and carrying out maintenance work.
You will know everything there is to know about how our Starship robots operate and will be able to deploy/pick up Robots from our fleet!
This is a part-time (4 days a week) contract for 6 months, paying 12£ an hour.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Deploying Robots using a company van in the Leeds, Trafford and Wakefield areas
- Supporting the maintenance activities in the Leeds hub and upgrades on robots and infrastructure
- Supporting operational tasks and field rescues of robots
- Maintaining hub-based warehouse and regular inventories
- Cleaning the robots and supporting ad-hoc tasks at the hub
- Updating tracking spreadsheets and dashboard used in day-to-day operations
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks and audits checklists at stores

What we hope you’ll bring to the table:
- A passion for robots and innovative technologies and a willingness to learn about our operations
- Driver’s license for manual transmission and ideally, previous experience driving a van
- Previous entry-level experience involving driving
- Good self-discipline & time management
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Fluent in English
- Eligible to work in England
Beneficial skills:
- Work in logistics or operations-related roles
- Experience as a technician
